dpaf covered the sentencing of a Manchester based woman named Laura Hood, convicted of making a false accusation of Rape against a local taxi driver named Haroon Yousaf.
Laura Hood’s false claim was made in January 2017 – at the height of Alison Saunders malicious prosecutions of British men. No doubt Laura was as surprised as anyone that she, herself, was charged with ‘Perverting the Cause of Justice.’ Yet why did she make the false claim? Was she trying to cover up a relapse in to drug and alcohol use? Or merely seeking attention?
